faq for self-drive boats

is there any restrictions on where I can sail?

Yes, there are restrictions. Upon arriving at the port, you must inform your lessor which of the following routes you will take:

  • North Route: Shipwreck Beach, Blue Caves, Xygia Beach and Pelagaki Beach.
  • South Route: Turtle Island, Turtle Spotting, Keri Caves, Cameo Island and Myzithres Rocks.
Please Note the full round of the island is prohibited on Self Drive Boats. 

How is Fuel calculated and what are the average costs for each route?

Fuel costs are calculated based on the fuel meter. Each boat is equipped with a full 80lt fuel tank prior to your departure. Upon your return, your lessor who will welcome you safely back will also inform the total amount of the usage. 

On average, the estimated fuel costs are:

  • North Route: Approximately €70 - €90
  • South Route: Approximately €90 - €110
Please Note that factors such as full capacity on board and sea conditions can affect these estimates.

What to Bring on Your Boat Trip?

Essential Items:

  • Passport or ID – Required for identification and verification.
  • Booking Confirmation – Proof of your reservation.

Recommended Items:

  • Sunscreen 
  • Sunglasses & Hat 
  • Water & Snacks 
  • Camera or Waterproof Phone Case 
  • Snorkeling Gear ( all our boats include 2 pieces of snorkels )  
  • Non-slip Shoes or Flip-flops  
  • Cash ( For extra expenses such as fuel )

Do i need a license to self drive these speedboats?

A lisence is not required to self drive our speedboats. Make sure you pay attention to your lessors lesson and you will have no issues sailing the boats. Please make sure you bring a Form of Id at the port. 

Am i insured in case of damage?

We provide third-party liability insurance, which is a type of coverage that financially protects you if you're considered responsible for damages or injury to another person or their property. If you damage the speedboat you are driving, you are fully responsible for the damages.
